Debbie Murphy is a lifelong survivor of continuous, varied trauma from a very young age. She founded the Debbie Murphy Foundation after seeing how a small bit of help at a critical moment can change the course of a life. Debbie is shaped by unimaginable trials - physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual - and by the fierce of conviction that no one should suffer alone.

She won’t always say what you want to hear, but because of that blunt honesty, she’s exactly the person who gets things done. She leads the Foundation with compassion and practical focus, building programs that provide emergency assistance, family stabilization, and volunteer-powered services across Texas. Known for her bold, unfiltered voice and relentless focus on outcomes, she centers dignity and storytelling in her work.

Her life experience gives her a unique lens: she knows depression, the weight of hopelessness, and what it feels like to be afraid and want to give up. Yet through charity, drive, and determination, she has fought her way forward without falling into addiction or homelessness. Debbie sees the human side of crisis - neighbors who need a hand, children who need stability, people who need someone to listen and act. What began as small, personal acts of help has grown into a nonprofit that offers timely aid and pathways to long-term stability.

Debbie leads with a hands-on, team-centered approach, combining practical program design with a storyteller’s belief that every individual’s journey matters. Outside of her nonprofit work she is a business owner, entrepreneur, mother of four boys, wife, daughter, and a first responder. She welcomes conversations with donors, volunteers, and partners who want to stand with families in need. “Every story we raise up is a reminder that caring neighbors can change a life,” she says, inviting others to join the mission.
