Showing Up for the People
Others Overlook
The Debbie Murphy Foundation stands with people facing impossible circumstances — providing 24/7 crisis response, peer-led healing, and long-term support so no one has to rebuild alone.
WHO WE SERVE
🚒
First Responders
On-duty injuries, end-of-duty losses, toxic workplace environments — we provide emergency financial relief, counseling, and career pathways for those who serve.
🎖️
Military & Veterans
Service-related trauma doesn't end when the uniform comes off. We support veterans and active military with mental health access, financial stability, and community connection.
🏡
Families & Neighbors
Crisis doesn't discriminate. Emergency grants, children's programs, and volunteer-powered outreach help Texas families find footing again — whatever they're facing.
🤝
Survivors of Violence
Guided by survivors, for survivors. Trauma-informed counseling, legal advocacy, safe resources, and peer support for adults and children of any gender.
“Because I’ve had to fight alone, I want to make sure no one else does. We give urgent help and build sustained community support — practical, honest, and focused on dignity.”
Built by Someone
Who's Been There
Debbie Murphy is a Texas-licensed paramedic, business owner, mother of four, and lifelong survivor. After witnessing firsthand the devastating toll that on-duty injury, toxic workplaces, and personal trauma take on families, she turned lived experience into action.
She knows depression. She knows hopelessness. She knows what it feels like to want to give up — and what it means when someone shows up at the right moment with the right help. That's the foundation, literally.
DMF started with small, personal acts of help and has grown into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit delivering emergency aid, trauma-informed care, training scholarships, and mentorship across Texas. Real people. Real stories. Real change.
—OUR STORY
—— WHAT WE DO
Programs Built Around Real Needs
Every program at DMF was created because someone needed it and couldn't find it anywhere else. No red tape, no judgment — just practical help that meets people where they are.
💸
Emergency Relief Grants
Short-term financial assistance for families and individuals in acute crisis — covering rent, utilities, and food when it matters most.
🎓
Training Scholarships
Continuing education grants for first responders and veterans seeking new certifications or career pivots after on-duty injury or service setbacks.
🗣️
Survivor Advocacy
Legal navigation, systems accountability, and survivor-centered advocacy that amplifies voices and demands the justice every person deserves.
🧠
Trauma-Informed Mental Health
Access to counseling, peer support, and mental health navigation for survivors, first responders, and veterans navigating invisible wounds.
🌱
Family Stabilization
Wraparound support connecting families to local schools, clinics, and partners for lasting stability — not just short-term relief.
🤲
Mentorship & Community
Volunteer-powered outreach, peer mentorship, and events that build belonging — because healing happens in community, not in isolation.
Your Support Changes Everything
A single act of generosity can be the turning point in someone's life. Donate, volunteer, or spread the word — every contribution fuels emergency relief, healing, and hope across Texas.
